Status post: labor room/delivery room duty! BEST DUTY EVER!!! It definitely has something to do with typhoon Mina that we got this scene at the LR/DR:

Empty labor room!

  Empty DR tables!

So, what would interns and clerks should be doing in such heavenly duty hours? What else, loiter at dreamla-la-land!!
Below, pedia clerk and the intern were snoring where postpartum patients were supposedly lying! Ew, how does dried blood smells guys? Hehe.

Everyone was sleeping!

Take a closer look, someone didn't even spare the OR table!

I even had time lingering at OBAS while "breaching sterility" as if there is something to "breach". Duh.

Magka-duty pa kami ni Jehan! She's at the Pedia catcher's area. We ate our iftar and suhoor together and good thing there was no patient because we had lengthy stories told just like the ol' undergrad times! Ah, I miss this girl! :)

Indeed, while a particular event may bring disaster to some, it could also be a source of joy for some. Thank you, Typhoon Mina for giving us a rest. :)

OB Admitting Section duty. The scene: unemployed, unmarried, pregnant bitches come inside with various chief complaints such as ruptured bag of water, vaginal bleeding, or labor pains. We get the necessary papers, extract their histories and do physical examinations including pelvic exam, of course. We let them urinate in those tiny bottles and vacuum their blood in a syringe and pour them in a color-coded vials according to the test needed: purple (CBC), blue (PT, PTT) or red (serum electrolytes and others).

It's uninspiring when you know well that these mothers who don't even know how to take care of themselves will give birth to a tiny angel whose future is uncertain.

And that disgusting mixture of dried blood and peculiar cervical CA scent wafting in the air clearly sends me a sign: I have no space in the OB-GYN world.

I sat down and opened Ciara (this lappy) with a concrete theme on my mind to write. I started typing the first word, paused, heaved a deep sigh, and slowly pressed backspace. I made my brain work. I think again. Again and again. The subject flees my mind. I have nothing to write.

I tried typing a sentence followed by another sentence supporting the former. But I cannot make a conclusion. Ctrl+A, then delete. I have nothing to write.

I stared at the blank page, the cursor blinking at me. I contemplate. I muse. I ponder. Every single minute.

What will I do next? What is the meaning of this or that? What will happen next? Will I be happy with it?
What is happiness? Is this happiness?

Love. It continues to elude me. What is it? How it is to be loved or to love?

I decided not to write about something I know not.

What I know is…hunger.

On another good news, my little sister made  it to the recently concluded Nursing Licensure Exam!! Wohooo!!! And oh, her school garnered 100% passing rate. All the hard work paid off, sis.

CONGRATULATIONS, SOX!!!

That's her behind the mug. FYI, I'm the only person calling her Sox. Most people call her Amanee.

I haven't been in the WWW for the past days due to a difficult internet connection and a huge lack of time but I don't want this excitement pass.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO MADE IT TO THE AUGUST 2011 PHYSICIANS LICENSURE BOARD EXAM!!!!!

Wooot!!!! Of course, special mention goes to my BFF #902 Mamari, Noranihar Dalidig.

All praises belong to Allah, Thy be the Glory.

I was taught not to sulk over material losses. They're just material things anyway. There's more to life than that and they can be replaced anytime, and if God permits, with something grander. I only wish that the person who stole my money will spend it in a righteous manner, if he/she has a speck of righteousness in his/her soul. Also, thanks to him/her for not taking away my entire wallet which contains my IDs and my ATM card.

Life sucks, sometimes. All you need is a bit of optimism and an eye on the brighter side.

Karma deals with justice and it gets back before you see it coming.

Allah provides for the as-sabiruun (the patient).
